The Tripp Lite SM2200RMXL2UP is a 2U rackmount or tower uninterruptible power supply rated at 2200 VA and 1920 W. It delivers 120 V sine-wave output with automatic voltage regulation for servers, network gear and storage arrays. Eight NEMA outlets include four 5-15R and four 5-15/20R receptacles. The unit is tested to UL 1778, CSA and NOM standards.

Installation and common issues

The 2U form factor mounts in standard 19-inch racks or sits as a tower. Input uses a 5-20P plug requiring a matching 20 A branch circuit. Management connects via USB HID, DB9 serial, EPO port or an optional SNMP card slot. Audible alarms warn of power failure, overload and low battery. Battery modules are user-replaceable using the RBC94-2U cartridge.

Runtime and interface limits

At full 1920 W load the internal VRLA batteries provide 4.5 minutes of runtime; at half load (960 W) runtime extends to 12 minutes. Recharge from 10 % to 90 % takes under 4.5 hours after a full-load discharge. Surge protection is rated at 570 joules. The USB and serial ports support PowerAlert software for monitoring and graceful shutdown.
