Portable rack cooling

The Tripp Lite SRCOOL12KE is a 1U rack-mountable air conditioner that delivers 13,000 BTU (3.8 kW) ASHRE and 9,000 BTU (2.64 kW) SACC of cooling capacity. It operates on 120V AC with a NEMA 5-15P plug and draws up to 1,200 watts. The self-contained unit uses R32 refrigerant and includes a built-in evaporator for drip-free operation without water tanks.

Spot cooling for dense IT loads

This unit suits network closets, small server rooms or hot-spot cooling inside a larger rack row where facility air conditioning is absent or insufficient. It filters and dehumidifies intake air while exhausting heat through a flexible duct. Sites that lack a 120V 15 A circuit, cannot route the supplied exhaust duct, or need redundant cooling for mission-critical loads should evaluate alternative solutions.

Continuous duty under full load

Rated for 100% duty cycle, the SRCOOL12KE maintains its rated output without cycling off, keeping inlet temperatures stable during sustained heat events. The IT-grade exhaust fan preserves airflow even when the condenser sees high return-air temperatures. CEC, DOE, NRCan and EPA/AIM efficiency compliance confirms the 34% efficiency gain over legacy refrigerants is sustained, not just a peak figure.

Questions about this item

What rack space must I have free for this 1U unit to fit?

The SRCOOL12KE occupies 1U of rack height and measures 30.63'' x 11.81'' x 19.88'', so you need a single rack unit with at least that depth and width clearance.

Will the NEMA 5-15P plug work on my existing 120V circuit without an electrician?

Yes, the unit draws a maximum of 1200 watts at 120V AC and ships with a standard NEMA 5-15P cord, so it plugs into a regular 15-amp North American outlet.

How do I confirm the built-in evaporator is preventing condensation after installation?

The front touch-sensitive control panel shows diagnostic LEDs; if no water-tank or drain alerts appear and the LEDs indicate normal operation, the evaporator is working as designed.
