Plenum-rated CAT6 for indoor runs

This plenum-rated CAT6 cable is built for installation in air-handling spaces above suspended ceilings or below raised floors. It uses solid bare copper conductors and meets TIA/EIA 568-C.2 standards for commercial and residential networking.

Solid-core construction and 550 MHz bandwidth

The 23 AWG solid conductors with a centre spline keep pair geometry stable during pulls, reducing cross-talk and supporting up to 550 MHz bandwidth. Unshielded twisted-pair design suits typical indoor environments without adding bulk.

Easy-pull box with foot markings

Sequential foot markings on the jacket let you track remaining length during long runs. The 1000 ft easy-pull box pays out cleanly for single-person installation. Not suited for outdoor burial or direct UV exposure.

Questions about this item

How do I pull the 1000 ft plenum cable from its easy-pull box without kinking the 23 AWG solid copper pairs?

Feed the cable straight from the box opening while keeping the centre spline aligned; the sequential foot markings let you track length without forcing bends that exceed the spline's kink resistance.

Will the CMP-rated red jacket need replacement after long-term exposure in air-handling spaces?

The plenum-rated jacket meets TIA/EIA 568-C.2 fire-safety requirements for continuous use above suspended ceilings or below raised floors, so no scheduled jacket replacement is required under normal indoor conditions.

At what distance does the 550 MHz bandwidth limit 10-Gigabit Ethernet performance on this UTP run?

10-Gigabit Ethernet over Cat 6 UTP is supported up to 100 ft; beyond that the 550 MHz bandwidth ceiling makes 10 GbE unreliable, so plan shorter links for sustained 10 GbE throughput.
