Dual-socket server board for Opteron 2000 series

The Tyan S2912WG2NR-E is an extended-ATX server motherboard built around the NVIDIA nForce Professional 3600 chipset. It accepts two AMD Opteron Revision F 2000 series dual-core or quad-core processors in Socket 1207. The board targets IT teams refreshing or repairing legacy dual-socket platforms.

64 GB DDR2-667 across eight 240-pin slots

Memory capacity tops out at 64 GB using DDR2-667 modules installed in eight 240-pin DIMM sockets running in dual-channel mode. This ceiling is fixed by the chipset and cannot be exceeded with larger modules or faster speeds.

Suits maintainers of existing Socket 1207

Organisations keeping current dual-Opteron 2000 series systems running will find a direct replacement here. Teams needing higher memory limits, newer CPU generations or modern I/O standards should evaluate alternative platforms.
