Covert surveillance for indoor spaces

This Ubiquiti Networks camera hides inside a PIR motion-detector housing so it looks like a standard alarm sensor. It delivers 5 megapixel resolution through a 3.7 mm pinhole lens for a wide-angle view. The unit is built for covert indoor monitoring where visible cameras are undesirable.

PoE power requirement decides compatibility

The camera needs a separate PoE injector, PoE switch or PoE NVR to operate; no power supply is included. It connects via 2.4 GHz wireless at up to 54 Mbps and speaks ONVIF for integration with third-party recorders. Buyers without existing PoE infrastructure cannot use this model.

Sustained covert night vision without visible glow

Forty-eight 940 nm invisible IR LEDs illuminate up to 33 ft (10 m) without emitting a red glow, keeping the camera undetectable in darkness. The 1/2.7 inch sensor maintains 1080p video during continuous low-light recording. Weather-resistant housing supports extended indoor operation.

Questions about this item

What does the 5 MP sensor actually deliver once the camera is running?

The 5 MP sensor captures high-definition images through a 1/2.7" interline transfer chip, while the stream records at 1080P resolution for sharp, bright footage.

How does the ONVIF interface limit what I can connect it to?

ONVIF compliance lets the camera plug into multiple third-party PoE NVRs and supports HTTP, RTSP, TCP/IP and other standard network protocols for broad compatibility.

What does the PIR housing need to mount and stay powered?

The indoor PIR-style housing measures 14.33in W x 12.83in H x 9.06in D and requires a separate PoE injector, PoE switch or PoE NVR — no power supply is included.
