Ubiquiti M9 1080P Outdoor Wireless Camera

The Ubiquiti M9 is a 1080P wireless IP camera built for outdoor home surveillance. It runs on battery power and connects through 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so it suits renters or owners who cannot run cables to the mounting spot. Motion detection and two-way audio let householders check visitors or deliveries from a smartphone.

Weatherproof Build With 2.4 GHz Wireless Mounting

A weatherproof housing protects the camera against rain and humidity in exposed positions. The 2.4 GHz wireless link reaches up to 54 Mbps, which is enough for a single 1080P stream but leaves no headroom for other heavy traffic on the same channel. Battery operation means no outdoor power outlet is required, though periodic recharging becomes part of the routine.

AI Human Detection And AES-128 Cloud Storage

On-board AI human detection filters out cars and pets, so only person-triggered clips generate notifications. Two-way talk lets you speak to callers in real time from the app. Full-colour night vision preserves facial detail after dark. Recordings are encrypted with AES-128 when stored in the optional cloud service, which is sold separately.

Questions about this item

What is the maximum wireless data rate on the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi link?

The camera connects at up to 54 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band, which caps real-world throughput well below that figure.

What power source does the M9 require for mounting?

It runs from a 100–240 V AC supply at 50/60 Hz, so you need a nearby mains outlet or weatherproof wiring.

How is the camera set up, and which step often causes connection failures?

Pair it to the 2.4 GHz network in the app, then mount it; the common mistake is attempting the initial pairing on a 5 GHz SSID.
