Converts USB to two RS-232 ports with isolation, auto baud detection up to 115200bps and 3000A lightning protection on the serial side
The UT-8102 adds two RS-232 ports to any computer with a USB 1.1 or 2.0 port, using a USB-B female connector and 5.08 terminal blocks for wiring. It targets engineers and technicians who must link modern PCs to legacy PLCs, meters or industrial controllers that still rely on serial communication. The adapter works across Windows, Mac, Linux and Windows CE without extra drivers in most cases.
Optical isolation on the RS-232 side and 8/20 µs 3000 A lightning protection shield the host from ground loops and transient spikes common in factory environments. Automatic data-flow direction control removes the need for manual RTS/CTS toggling, while baud-rate auto-detection from 300 to 115200 bps lets the link adapt to whatever speed the remote device expects.
Screw-terminal blocks accept twisted-pair or shielded cable directly, so no DB-9 gender changers or soldering are required inside panels. The unit operates from -40 to 85 °C at 5 to 95 % relative humidity, making it viable for outdoor enclosures or unheated plant floors where consumer-grade dongles would fail.

The terminal block uses screw-down contacts that hold wires firmly; no scheduled tightening is required.
The converter auto-detects serial signals up to 115200 bps, and this ceiling is the first limit reached under sustained use.
It operates from -40 to 85 °C with no fan, so heat output stays low enough for passive cooling in an enclosure.
