Ceiling-mountable speaker for distributed audio

The Valcom V-C806PK is a ceiling-mountable speaker designed for distributed audio systems. Its 45 Ohm impedance suits constant-voltage lines common in commercial paging and background music installations. The unit installs flush to the ceiling for a low-profile appearance in offices, schools or retail spaces.

Passive operation with no onboard amplification

As a passive component the speaker draws no mains power and adds no fan noise to the environment. Thermal output is negligible because the driver is driven entirely by the external amplifier. Acoustic performance depends on the amplifier settings and the layout of the distributed line.

Questions about this item

How is the 45 Ohm ceiling speaker installed and what wiring step is often missed?

Mount the speaker in the ceiling cut-out and connect the two conductor wires to the 45 Ohm amplifier output; the step often missed is confirming the amplifier channel is set for 45 Ohm load before powering on.

What maintenance will the V-C806PK ceiling speaker need over time?

Periodically dust the grille and check that the terminal screws remain tight; the driver itself has no user-serviceable parts and requires no scheduled replacement.
