Caster Wheel 1400 lb Load Rating

This caster wheel is designed for wheelbarrows and carts requiring a high load capacity. It suits users moving heavy materials across worksites or yards. The 8-inch diameter iron wheel handles rough ground while supporting up to 1,400 pounds per wheel.

Iron Wheel Practical Limits

The extra-hard iron tread rated at 145 BHN resists wear but offers no shock absorption on uneven surfaces. It can mark delicate flooring despite the non-marking claim under heavy loads. The 2-inch width concentrates pressure, limiting use on soft turf or loose gravel where sinking occurs.

Simple Axle Installation

The wheel fits a 1/2-inch axle and includes a spanner bushing to match the 2 7/16-inch hub length. Installation requires basic tools to secure the roller bearing assembly. Misaligned bushings cause binding, while overtightening the axle nut damages the bearing races and leads to premature failure.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 1400 lb wheel or a lighter-duty option?

Choose the 1400 lb wheel when your cart or wheelbarrow must carry loads up to that rating; lighter wheels are only for smaller loads.

What does the 1400 lb load rating mean once the wheel is on my cart?

Each wheel is rated for 1400 lb; the total capacity depends on how many wheels share the load and whether the frame matches that rating.

How does the 1/2 in axle size limit what I can mount this wheel on?

The wheel fits a 1/2 in axle and includes a spanner bushing; it will not mount on larger or smaller axles without modification.
