Swivel Plate Caster 4 in 700 lb

This swivel plate caster supports a 700 lb load rating with a 4 in polyurethane wheel on an aluminum core. It is built for wheelbarrows and carts that need smooth, non‑marking movement across hard floors. The unit has no brake and no swivel lock, so it rolls freely in any direction.

Polyurethane wheel and aluminum core

The polyurethane tread resists floor marking while the aluminum core adds strength without extra weight. This combination reduces rolling resistance on concrete or tile and holds up to repeated loading. Because there is no brake or lock, the caster suits applications where constant mobility is preferred over stationary positioning.

Check mounting plate and clearance

Verify that the mounting plate pattern matches the existing holes on your wheelbarrow or cart frame. Confirm the 4 in wheel diameter and 2 in wheel width fit within the available fork or axle space. The product carries a California Proposition 65 warning for chemicals linked to cancer and reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

Will the polyurethane tread on this 700 lb swivel plate caster need periodic replacement?

The polyurethane tread is bonded to an aluminium core and designed for long service; replacement is only required if the tread becomes cut, chunked or worn through to the core.

What limits continuous rolling of this 700 lb caster under sustained load?

The 700 lb load rating is the primary limit; exceeding it or running on rough surfaces can overheat the polyurethane and cause premature tread wear.

Does this 700 lb swivel caster generate noticeable heat or noise during all-day use?

Polyurethane on aluminium runs quietly on smooth floors and produces minimal heat; noise increases only on uneven surfaces or if debris embeds in the tread.
