V-Groove Swivel Caster

This V-groove swivel caster is built for industrial carts and material-handling equipment that run on inverted angle-iron track. The cast-iron wheel carries an 800 lb load rating and swivels freely to change direction without lifting the load.

Plate mount with no lock or brake

The top plate bolts directly to the equipment frame and provides a fixed swivel action with no integrated swivel lock or wheel brake. A non-marking iron tread protects finished floors when the cart moves off the track.

800 lb capacity on a 4 in wheel

The 4 inch diameter and 1 1/2 inch tread width concentrate the load for stable tracking on V-groove rails. Capacity drops sharply on flat surfaces or when shock loads exceed the static rating.

Questions about this item

Will the V-groove tread on this cast-iron wheel need replacement after heavy use?

The solid iron wheel and V-groove tread are a single piece, so there is no separate tread to wear out or replace.

What limits continuous rolling under the 800 lb rating?

The 800 lb load rating is the maximum capacity; sustained loads at or near that limit will stress the swivel bearing and plate mounting first.

Does the cast-iron wheel generate noticeable heat or noise during all-day operation?

Cast iron runs cool but can be louder on hard surfaces; the V-groove design reduces sliding friction on angled tracks.
