Built for 1080p gaming and multitasking

The Velztorm Pilum desktop pairs an 8-core Ryzen 7 3700X processor with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD. A GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with 4GB GDDR5 handles mainstream titles at 1080p. Windows 10 Home is pre-installed.

Black chassis with liquid CPU cooling and front

A 120mm AIO liquid cooler keeps the Ryzen processor at stable temperatures while RGB lighting adds visual flair. The 750W power supply provides headroom for the installed components. Front-panel I/O includes USB 3.1 Type-C Gen1, USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-A and five USB 3.0 Type-A ports for peripherals and fast external drives.

Upgrade from an older quad-core system

Builders moving from a 4-core CPU or integrated graphics will notice smoother frame rates in esports titles and faster application loading from the NVMe SSD. The 4TB capacity removes the need for a secondary drive in most workflows. Buyers who want more storage or higher refresh-rate 1440p performance should consider a configuration with a larger GPU and additional drive bays.

Questions about this item

Does the PCIe 3.0 x4 interface on the 4TB SSD limit its real-world read speed?

The 4TB PCIe SSD connects through a PCIe 3.0 x4 link, so sequential reads top out around 3.4 GB/s in practice.

What case clearance does the 120mm AIO liquid CPU cooler require?

The 120mm radiator fits any chassis with a single 120mm fan mount on the rear or top panel.

How is Windows 10 Home activated after the custom build, and what step is often missed?

Windows 10 Home activates automatically on first internet connection; the step often missed is running Windows Update before installing drivers.
