What this switch does

The VENTION AKPH0 is a bi-directional HDMI switch that lets you connect two source devices to one display, or one source to two displays, toggling between them with a single button press. It is built for gamers and home-theatre users who want to move a console, PC or media player between screens without re-plugging cables. The unit draws power from the included USB-C cable and uses LED indicators to show the active port.

Bandwidth and resolution limits

The switch passes up to 48 Gbps and supports 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz, along with 3D, dynamic HDR and HDCP 2.2. Achieving the highest modes requires source, cable and display to all meet the HDMI 2.1 specification. Chroma 4:2:0, 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 are all carried without compression.

Sustained-use behaviour

LED status lights replace an LCD panel, reducing standby draw while keeping the active input visible during long sessions. The intelligent chip maintains signal integrity over repeated switching, so extended gaming or work periods do not introduce flicker or drop-outs as long as the USB-C power connection remains secure.

Questions about this item

What does the 48 Gbps bandwidth mean when the switch is connected to a TV and console?

The 48 Gbps bandwidth lets the switch pass 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 120 Hz without compression, so games and video keep full colour depth and HDR metadata.

How does the HDMI 2.1 interface limit what I can actually run?

HDMI 2.1 caps the switch at 48 Gbps, so 8K 60 Hz, 4K 120 Hz and 1080p 240 Hz are the highest supported modes; anything above needs a newer standard.

What does the unit need to fit on my desk or in a rack?

The switch weighs 0.1 kg and uses three HDMI ports plus a USB-C power cable, so it sits on any flat surface without brackets or rails.
