VERACITY VLS-1P-C surveillance accessory POE 600m 800m

Long-Range Ethernet Extender

The Veracity VLS-1P-C is a point-to-point network extender that delivers 100Base-T full-duplex connectivity over regular Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable. It is built for installers who need to reach IP cameras or other remote network devices well beyond the standard 100 metre Ethernet limit. The ruggedised unit operates across an extreme temperature range and includes a smart power and diagnostic display for reliable commissioning.

Check Cable Type and Power Budget

Before ordering, verify that the cable run uses standard Cat 5e, Cat 6 or single-pair UTP wiring and that the total distance matches the required power class. The extender provides full 802.3at POE Plus power at runs up to 600 metres and maintains unrestricted data throughput at distances up to 800 metres without mid-cable equipment. Ensure the remote device accepts POE input and that the head-end switch can supply the necessary POE budget.

Upgrade from Short-Range Links

This extender replaces standard POE switches or media converters that cannot span long distances, removing the need for additional cabinets, fibre runs or powered mid-span repeaters. The jump is worth it when a camera or sensor must be sited hundreds of metres from the network core and a simple, maintenance-free link over existing copper is preferred. It is not suited for installations that require gigabit speeds or multi-drop topologies.
