Archival-Grade CD-R Media

Verbatim 96159 discs provide 700MB of write-once storage on gold-silver dual reflective layers. The 52X maximum speed suits standard CD writers. A 50-pack spindle targets users who need long-term preservation for photos, records or corporate archives.

Installation and Common Issues

Discs load like any standard CD-R in a tray or slot-loading drive. Writing fails if the burner cannot recognise the dual reflective structure or if the selected speed exceeds the drive's capability. Surface scratches or dust on the gold side will increase error rates during verification.

Pre-Purchase Checks

Confirm your CD or DVD writer supports CD-R recording at up to 52X. Ensure the host software can finalise discs for archival compatibility. Verify that storage conditions will remain cool and dry to maintain the gold layer's corrosion resistance over decades.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 96159 discs recorded correctly after burning at 52X?

Verify the session in your burning software and then read the disc in a different drive; a successful verify pass with low error rates shows the gold archival layer is working as intended.

What does the 50-pack spindle contain and what must I supply?

The spindle holds fifty 700MB CD-R blanks; you need a compatible CD-R or CD-RW drive and blank-disc-compatible burning software.

Which version of the 96159 should I choose for long-term photo archives?

The single 96159 model is a 700MB 52X UltraLife Gold Archival Grade CD-R in a 50-disc spindle — it is the only version offered.
