Vented 2U Rack Shelf for Surveillance Gear

The Video Mount Products ER-S2UV is a 2U vented steel shelf finished in black powder coat. It fits standard 19-inch EIA racks and includes mounting hardware. Antistatic resistance helps protect sensitive electronics in security installations.

Practical Limits of the 2U Vented Standard

The shelf supports an overall load capacity of 50 lb across a depth of 14 7/8 in. Tie-down slots at the rear secure cables and equipment. Ventilation relies on passive airflow through the perforated tray, so dense or high-heat devices may need additional cooling.

Upgrade from Fixed or Non-Vented Trays

This unit replaces solid or non-vented shelves that trap heat in surveillance racks. The jump is worth it when rack-mounted recorders, switches or power supplies run hot and need steady airflow. It is not suited for loads exceeding 50 lb or depths beyond 14 7/8 in.

Questions about this item

Which rack height should I pick for my cabinet?

This shelf occupies 2 rack units and fits a standard 19-inch rack, so choose it when you have 3.5 inches of vertical space available.

What does the 50 lb load capacity mean once the shelf is installed?

It means the steel tray can hold up to 50 pounds of equipment — cameras, recorders or accessories — without bending, provided the weight is distributed evenly.

How does the EIA compliance affect mounting in my rack?

EIA compliance guarantees the mounting holes line up with any standard 19-inch rack, so the included hardware bolts straight in without adapters.
