Indoor and outdoor bullet camera

The VideoSecu BC27BMKC is a wired analog bullet camera built around a Sony CCD sensor that delivers 480 TV lines of horizontal resolution. It ships with a 3.6 mm wide-angle lens, a swivel mounting bracket, a 12 V DC power supply, an audio-video-power extension cable, a mini microphone and a warning sticker. The weatherproof aluminium housing allows installation inside or outside a building. The camera requires a separate CCTV DVR for recording and is not a wireless device.

Analog BNC interface limits

Video leaves the camera over a single BNC connector using the NTSC signal standard, so the link is constrained to standard-definition 480 TV lines and cannot feed an HD or IP recorder. The fixed 3.6 mm lens provides a wide field of view but offers no optical zoom or remote focus adjustment. Power is drawn from the included 12 V DC 500 mA supply, and the bundled cable carries video, audio and power together, simplifying the run but fixing the maximum distance to the cable length supplied.

Upgrade from no camera or a failed unit

This camera replaces a missing or broken analog bullet camera in an existing BNC-based DVR system where the cabling and recorder are already in place. The jump is worth it when you need a compact, weatherproof unit with a built-in microphone and a wide-angle view for general coverage. It does not suit installations that require HD resolution, IP networking, varifocal optics or wireless connectivity, and it will not work with modern HD-over-coax or NVR platforms.

Questions about this item

Is the 3.6 mm lens the only focal-length option for this BC27BMKC model?

Yes, the BC27BMKC ships with a fixed 3.6 mm wide-angle lens and no alternative focal lengths are offered for this model.

What does 480 TV lines actually deliver on a standard analog DVR?

The 480 TV lines rating gives standard-definition analog detail typical for entry-level CCTV; expect clear faces and licence plates at short range but not HD clarity.

How does the BNC video connection limit the system design?

The BNC output carries composite NTSC video only, so the camera must plug directly into an analog DVR or encoder — it cannot connect to IP networks or HD-SDI recorders.
