Surveillance cable for Ethernet Coax

This VideoSecu CBRG1796 cable links devices in Ethernet Coax installations. It is built for installers who need a direct BNC male-to-male run without extra adapters. The 6 ft length suits short rack or wall-plate connections. Buyers needing longer runs or different connector types should choose another product.

Molded nickel connectors retain signal

Fully molded nickel connectors resist oxidation and hold the centre pin firmly for stable transmission. The RG179 coaxial construction keeps attenuation low over the stated length. No power supply or active circuitry is involved, so heat and noise are not factors. The black jacket blends with typical surveillance trunking.

Single cable in the package

The box contains one 6 ft BNC male-to-male cable and nothing else. No tools, terminators or software are bundled, so installers must supply their own crimp tools or testers if required. The straightforward contents keep the kit light for field work.

Questions about this item

How do I install the VideoSecu CBRG1796 BNC cable without damaging the connector pins?

Align the centre pin with the jack, push straight in, then twist the bayonet ring a quarter-turn until it clicks; forcing the pin sideways bends it and breaks the connection.

What maintenance or replacement will the RG179 cable need over time?

Inspect the moulded nickel connectors for corrosion or cracked insulation every few months; replace the 6 ft lead if the jacket shows cuts or the bayonet lock no longer holds firmly.

What limit appears first on this RG179 patch lead during a long CCTV run?

Signal attenuation on the thin RG179 centre conductor becomes noticeable before the 6 ft length is reached, so picture quality drops off first under sustained use.
