Cable type and intended use

This 500-foot RG59 18/2 siamese cable combines a 20AWG bare copper coaxial core with two 18AWG stranded power conductors under one jacket. It is designed for installers running analog CCTV cameras or basic residential TV antenna feeds where a single pull carries both video and low-voltage power.

Build quality and connector implications

The coaxial section uses a 95% copper braid shield for interference rejection, while the black sunlight-resistant PVC jacket withstands outdoor exposure. The reel-in-box packaging lets cable feed straight off the spool without tangling, and the RG59 construction accepts standard twist-on BNC connectors and common power pigtails without cutting or splicing.

Checks before ordering

Verify that your cameras and DVR use RG59-compatible BNC video inputs and that the 18AWG power pair matches the camera voltage and current requirements. Ensure the total run length stays within the 500-foot spool and that your installation path can accommodate the combined cable diameter. Buyers needing longer individual runs or digital IP camera wiring should consider a different cable type.

Questions about this item

What RG59 standard does the 500 ft Siamese cable follow for video transmission?

The cable uses 20 AWG bare copper coaxial construction with 95 % copper braid, matching RG59 specifications for analog CCTV video signals.

What physical space is needed to accommodate the reel-in-box packaging?

The 500 ft spool ships in a self-contained dispensing box designed to sit on a shelf or floor while you pull cable without tangles.

How do you terminate the coaxial and power conductors for a typical camera install?

Fit a twist-on BNC connector to the RG59 coax for video and attach the included 18 AWG stranded red and black wires to a power pigtail; no splicing of the camera pigtail is required.
