Power extension for CCTV cameras

This 15ft DC power pigtail cable connects CCTV security cameras and DVRs to any 12V power adapter that uses a 2.1mm x 5.5mm barrel plug. The 15ft length gives installers extra reach when the nearest outlet is not close to the mounting point. It arrives ready to use with no configuration required.

Steady 12V delivery over the full run

The cable carries a continuous 12V supply across the full 15ft without an active booster, so voltage at the camera end stays stable during long recording sessions. Copper conductors handle the typical current draw of standard surveillance cameras without noticeable drop. There is no onboard regulation, so the source adapter must already match the camera voltage.

Simple barrel connectors for daily installs

The 2.1mm inner and 5.5mm outer diameters match the common centre-positive barrel jack found on most CCTV power supplies. Plug the male end into the adapter and the female pigtail into the camera for a secure friction fit that resists accidental disconnects. The flexible jacket routes easily through conduit or along baseboards for a tidy permanent installation.

Questions about this item

Does the 15ft cable length add noticeable voltage drop for a 12V camera running all day?

At 15ft the resistance is low enough that a typical 12V camera sees minimal drop during continuous operation.

What must I already have for this 2.1mm x 5.5mm pigtail to power my device?

You need a 12V DC power adapter with a matching 2.1mm x 5.5mm jack and a camera or DVR that accepts the same plug size.

Will this extension work with the 2.1mm x 5.5mm jack on my older CCTV power supply?

Yes, the 2.1mm inner and 5.5mm outer diameters match the standard barrel size used on many legacy supplies.
