15 ft 12 V DC extension cable

This 15 ft DC power pigtail extension cable connects CCTV security cameras and DVRs to a 12 V supply with a 2.1 mm x 5.5 mm barrel jack. The cable is new and ready for immediate use. No configuration is required beyond plugging it in.

Plug-and-play pigtail design

The package contains a single 15 ft pigtail extension cable that adds reach between the power adapter and the camera or recorder. Its 2.1 mm inner and 5.5 mm outer diameters match the standard barrel connector found on many 12 V surveillance devices.

2.1 mm x 5.5 mm barrel interface limits

The cable only works with equipment that accepts a 2.1 mm centre pin and 5.5 mm sleeve at 12 V DC. Devices using a different barrel size, voltage or polarity cannot be powered with this cable.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.1 mm x 5.5 mm connector need replacement over time?

The connector is a standard passive plug with no moving parts; it only needs replacement if the barrel or centre pin is physically damaged.

What is the practical length limit for a 12 V DC run on this 15 ft cable?

At 15 ft the cable stays within typical voltage-drop limits for low-current CCTV cameras; longer runs would require a thicker gauge.

Does the 15 ft 12 V cable generate noticeable heat when powering a camera all day?

The cable carries only the camera's low current, so it remains at ambient temperature during continuous operation.
