VideoSecu SC17GK660 700TVL Varifocal Camera

The VideoSecu SC17GK660 is a wired box camera built around a 1/3 inch Sony Effio CCD sensor that delivers up to 700 TV lines of resolution. It connects via BNC and runs on 12 V DC, making it suitable for installers expanding or maintaining an analogue CCTV system. The package includes the camera body, a 6.0–60 mm varifocal lens, a power adapter, a mounting bracket and a warning sticker.

Thermals noise and power draw in normal use

The camera operates on a 12 V DC supply with no active cooling, so it runs silently and adds minimal heat to the installation site. Power consumption stays low because the analogue signal path and CCD sensor draw modest current during continuous day or night operation. The sealed housing and passive design mean there are no moving parts to generate noise or require maintenance.

What this replaces or upgrades from

This unit replaces older analogue cameras that top out below 700 TV lines or lack a varifocal lens, giving installers adjustable zoom without opening the housing. It is not suited for buyers who need IP networking, PoE power or resolutions beyond analogue limits. The jump is worthwhile when an existing DVR still uses BNC inputs and the project demands finer detail at variable distances.
