Two-camera analogue kit

This pack contains two VideoSecu VD21WK2 dome cameras for wired CCTV systems. Each unit uses a 1/3 inch CCD sensor delivering 480 TV lines of horizontal resolution. The 3.6 mm wide-angle lens covers a broad field of view. Twenty infrared LEDs per camera provide night vision down to 0.0 lux when the LEDs are active.

Check recorder and cabling first

The cameras output analogue video over BNC connectors and require a compatible DVR with BNC inputs. They are not compatible with HD or IP recorder platforms. Each camera draws 500 mA at 12 V DC, so the recorder or power distribution must supply that current. A monitor or display with a suitable analogue input is also needed to view the footage.

Wired installation with included supplies

Two 12 V DC power supplies are included, one for each camera, simplifying the power wiring. The vandal-resistant aluminium housings are rated for indoor and outdoor mounting. Because the signal is analogue, the cameras free up network bandwidth and do not require IP addressing or PoE infrastructure. They integrate directly into existing coaxial cable runs.

Questions about this item

Does the box include both cameras and power supplies, or do I need to buy anything extra?

The package contains two dome cameras and two 12 V DC power supplies, so each camera has its own supply. Only BNC video cable and a recorder or monitor are required separately.

The listing mentions one 3.6 mm wide-angle lens — is there any other focal-length option for this model?

The supplied cameras are fixed at 3.6 mm wide angle; no alternative lens is offered for this kit.

What does the 480 TVL resolution mean when the cameras are connected to a standard DVR?

The cameras output an analog NTSC signal at 480 TV lines horizontal resolution over BNC, which a compatible DVR records as standard-definition video.
