What this camera is and who it suits

The VideoSecu VD6HWL is a wired dome CCTV camera with a 1/3" SONY Effio CCD sensor delivering 600 TV lines. It uses a 3.6 mm wide-angle lens and 28 IR LEDs for day and night coverage in white housing.

Check your existing setup before ordering

This camera outputs analog video over a BNC connection and requires a DC 12 V power supply, which is included. It must connect to a compatible DVR and monitor using coaxial cable; it will not work with HD or IP recorder systems.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Ideal for installers adding a vandal-resistant dome to an existing analog DVR system. Not suitable for buyers who need IP networking, HD resolution, wireless operation or a camera that records independently without a separate recorder.

Questions about this item

Does the camera come with everything needed to start recording, or do I need to buy a DVR and cables separately?

The box includes the dome camera, a 12V DC power supply and a warning sticker; a DVR, coaxial cable and monitor are not included.

The lens is fixed at 3.6mm — how does that affect the field of view compared to a varifocal option?

The 3.6mm wide-angle lens gives a broad, fixed view suited for general coverage; a varifocal lens would let you adjust the zoom and angle, which this model cannot do.

What does 600 TV lines mean for the picture I will actually see on my DVR?

600 TV lines is the maximum horizontal resolution this analog camera delivers, providing clear standard-definition images when paired with a compatible 960H DVR.
