Docks two 2.5" or 3.5" SATA drives via USB 3.0 with offline cloning up to 60Mbps and 20TB total capacity
The ViewSonic EC-HD2B accepts two 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA hard drives or SSDs simultaneously. It connects through a USB 3.0 interface and operates without any driver installation. The unit includes a power supply and a USB 3.0 cable for immediate use.
Data moves at up to 5 Gbps over USB 3.0, falling back to 480 Mbps on USB 2.0 and 12 Mbps on USB 1.1. Offline duplication runs independently of the host at up to 60 Mbps, so large clones take longer than a direct PC transfer.
Each bay supports drives up to 10 TB, giving a combined 20 TB of accessible storage when both slots are filled. Drives larger than 10 TB per bay are not supported, so archivists needing higher single-drive capacities must look elsewhere.

Use offline cloning to duplicate drives without a computer at up to 60 Mbps. Connect via USB 3.0 for host access at up to 5 Gbps with UASP support.
The 5 Gbps link supports SATA I, II and III drives. Real-world throughput depends on the installed drive, but UASP reduces overhead compared to older USB protocols.
The dock accepts SATA I, II and III hard drives or SSDs. The USB 3.0 connection caps at 5 Gbps, so SATA III drives run at the interface maximum.
