Outdoor dome camera for extreme conditions

The VIVOTEK FD839-EHV-1Y is a 5MP network camera built for outdoor surveillance. Its IP66 and IK10 rated housing withstands dust, water jets and heavy impact. The unit operates reliably across an extreme temperature range. A one-year Vortex Essential licence is included for cloud-based management.

5MP resolution at 30 frames per second

The 1/2.7" CMOS sensor captures video at 2560 x 1920 pixels at 30 fps using H.264 or H.265 compression. A fixed 2.8 mm lens provides a 103° horizontal and 76° vertical field of view. Infrared illumination reaches 30 metres for clear night recording. WDR Pro handles 120dB dynamic range for high-contrast scenes.

Built-in microphone and PoE simplify installation

A single RJ-45 cable delivers both 10/100Mbps data and Power over Ethernet, removing the need for a local power supply. The integrated microphone enables one-way audio capture alongside video. Smart Stream III technology reduces bandwidth and storage consumption. The Vortex Essential licence activates Deep Search for rapid footage retrieval.

Questions about this item

What resolution will I actually record at 30 fps with the 5 MP sensor?

The camera captures 2560 x 1920 pixels at 30 frames per second using the full 5 MP sensor area.

The RJ-45 port is listed as 10/100 Mbps — what does that limit in practice?

The 100 Mbps ceiling caps total outbound video bandwidth, so multiple high-bitrate streams may saturate the link.

Will the 129 mm diameter dome fit a standard 4-inch electrical box?

The 129 mm base matches common 4-inch square or round mounting boxes used for outdoor dome cameras.
