The Vivotek FD9387-EHTV-V3 is a 5MP outdoor fixed dome network camera with a 2.7-13.5 mm varifocal lens. It belongs to the V Series and carries part number FD9387-EHTV-V3. The unit is supplied new and was first listed by the manufacturer in 2026.

Suits Perimeter Surveillance

This camera suits installers who need AI-powered Smart Motion Detection and Smart VCA for automated event filtering. Built-in IR illumination reaches up to 50M with Smart IR III, and WDR Pro handles high-contrast scenes. Buyers who require a different focal range or a form factor other than a fixed dome should look at alternative models.

Rugged Build for Exposed Sites

The housing meets IP66, IP67 and IP6K9K ingress ratings plus IK10+ impact and NEMA 4X corrosion resistance, so it mounts directly on exposed walls or poles without extra enclosures. Cyber protection is provided through Trend Micro IoT Security firmware integration. The varifocal lens allows on-site focal adjustment during installation.

Questions about this item

Does the FD9387-EHTV-V3 require a PoE switch or injector to power it?

Yes, the camera is powered over Ethernet so you need a PoE switch or a PoE injector that delivers the required wattage over the network cable.

Can the 2.7-13.5 mm varifocal lens cover the same viewing angles as my older fixed 4 mm dome cameras?

The varifocal range lets you adjust between wide and narrow fields of view, so you can match or exceed the coverage of a fixed 4 mm lens by setting the focal length accordingly.

How do I verify that the Smart IR III illumination is reaching the full 50M distance after installation?

At night, view the live feed from the farthest point you need to monitor; the image should show clear detail at 50 metres with even illumination and no hot-spots near the dome.
