VOTREK VT-C800 8.5" Bypass Pruning Shears
The VOTREK VT-C800 is an 8.5-inch bypass pruner built for gardeners who prune live stems, roses, shrubs and vines. Its scissor-like action makes clean cuts that help plants heal faster. The tool suits both left- and right-handed users and works comfortably with gloves on.
Upgrade from exposed-spring pruners
The sealed jam-proof spring blocks moisture, sap and debris that typically clog ordinary springs and cause rust or mid-cut sticking. The Teflon-coated SK5 blade resists sap buildup and keeps its edge longer than uncoated steel, reducing the effort needed for repeated cuts on 20 mm branches.
Check hand fit and cutting style before ordering
The one-hand slide lock is designed for ambidextrous use with gloved hands, so verify the grip feels secure for your hand size. This bypass design is intended for live growth only; it will not replace an anvil pruner for dead or hard wood. Ensure your pruning tasks match a clean-cut bypass action.

Questions about this item
What maximum branch thickness can the 8.5" VT-C800 cut cleanly?
The SK5 bypass blades are rated to cut live branches up to 20 mm in diameter with a single, smooth action.
How do I engage the ambidextrous thumb lock on the VT-C800, and what is the common mistake?
Slide the thumb glide forward with one hand until it clicks; the mistake is pressing the handles together first, which prevents the latch from seating.
Will the sealed spring on the VT-C800 ever need lubrication or replacement?
The jam-proof spring is factory-sealed against moisture and debris, so it requires no oiling and is designed to last the lifetime of the shears.
