Speaker cable for home audio systems

This 100 ft 18 AWG stereo cable connects speakers, amplifiers and A/V receivers in residential installations. The 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm connectors suit a wide range of audio devices. Corrosion-resistant construction helps maintain signal integrity over the full length.

Passive cable thermals and power

As a passive copper conductor the cable generates no heat and draws no power during normal use. Operation is completely silent because there are no active components or moving parts. The 18 AWG gauge keeps resistance low across the 100 ft run.

Upgrade from thinner or shorter runs

Replaces lighter-gauge or shorter cables that cannot reach distant speakers without excessive voltage drop. The jump is worthwhile when runs exceed the length of standard patch cords or when corrosion resistance is required for long-term reliability. Not suited for buyers who need in-wall rated jackets or balanced XLR connections.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the 2.5 mm and 3.5 mm plugs to my amplifier and speakers without reversing the channels?

Match each plug to the corresponding stereo jack on the amplifier and speaker; the 18 AWG conductors carry left and right signals separately, so swapping the plugs reverses the channels.

Will the corrosion‑resistant jacket on this 100 ft cable need any treatment or replacement over time?

The jacket is designed to resist corrosion for the life of the cable; no periodic treatment or scheduled replacement is required under normal indoor use.

At what point does the 18 AWG gauge become the limiting factor for power delivery on a 100 ft run?

Resistance increases with length, so on a 100 ft run the 18 AWG conductors will reach their practical current limit before shorter lengths, especially with high‑power amplifiers.
