3.5" SAS/SATA drive caddy four-pack

This four-pack supplies metal trays that accept 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives and mount directly into Dell PowerEdge servers from generations 11 through 14. Each caddy includes the screws needed for installation and is built from metal with a ventilated base to aid heat dissipation.

Suits administrators expanding Dell arrays.

The trays fit the drive bays of listed PowerEdge rack and tower models as well as PowerVault enclosures. They do not adapt 2.5-inch drives to 3.5-inch slots, so buyers needing that conversion should look at a different adapter type.

Holds four drives with room for growth

Each tray carries one 3.5-inch drive, giving immediate capacity for four devices in a single purchase. The pack covers current expansion and leaves spares for future replacements, but it does not increase the number of bays the chassis itself provides.

Questions about this item

What Dell PowerEdge generations must I already own for these 3.5" trays to fit?

They fit 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th generation PowerEdge servers including R310, R420, R530, R730xd, T340 and T640 models.

Will the metal caddies work with the 2.5" drive form factor listed in the specs?

The tray is built for 3.5" SAS or SATA drives; the 2.5" figure in the data refers to a different specification and does not change the bay size.

How can I confirm the tray is seated correctly after installation?

The drive should click firmly into the server backplane, the LED on the carrier lights up, and the OS detects the SAS or SATA device without errors.
