Converts a floppy power connector to a SATA power plug for ITX builds using 18 AWG wire over 15 cm
This 15 cm adapter converts a 4-pin floppy power connector into a 15-pin SATA power plug using 18 AWG wire. It lets small-form-factor builders connect SATA drives to legacy power supplies that only expose floppy leads. The short length keeps cable routing tidy inside compact chassis.
The cable replaces the need for a power supply with native SATA connectors when only floppy outputs are available. The jump is worth it when adding SSDs or hard drives to older ITX systems without swapping the PSU. It bridges the gap without requiring modular cable sets.
Each adapter powers a single SATA device from one floppy connector. Headroom ends at that 1-to-1 limit, so multiple drives need multiple floppy leads and separate adapters. The 18 AWG conductors handle typical drive currents within the short 15 cm run.

The cable is 15 cm long with a 1 cm transition section, so allow at least that combined length for routing between the 4-pin floppy connector and the 15-pin SATA power port.
Plug the 4-pin floppy male end into the motherboard or PSU floppy power header and the 15-pin SATA female end into the SATA device; the keyed shrouds prevent reverse insertion.
Replace the cable if the insulation cracks, pins become loose or corroded, or the 18 AWG wires show heat damage after extended use.
