Flat Cat6 Cable for Tight Routing

This Vszerda Cat 6 flat Ethernet cable is a 10 ft patch cord built with 30 AWG stranded bare copper conductors and gold-plated RJ45 connectors. The flat profile lets it run along baseboards, under carpets or around corners where round cable would bunch. It supports frequencies up to 250 MHz for gigabit and 10-gigabit Ethernet links.

Suited for Home and Office Drops

Buyers who need a low-profile cable for short runs between a router, switch, PC, console or PoE device will appreciate the snagless boots and flexible jacket. Installers who require shielded cable, longer permanent links or solid-conductor cable for in-wall termination should look at something else.

30 AWG Stranded Bare Copper Conductors

The cable uses 30 AWG stranded bare copper rather than copper-clad aluminium, giving higher conductivity and tensile strength for the stated 250 MHz performance. The 5.8 mm outside diameter and flat geometry determine whether it fits your routing path and connector clearance.

Questions about this item

What clearance is needed for the 5.8 mm flat cable to run under a carpet or along a baseboard?

The cable measures 5.8 mm thick, so any gap larger than about 6 mm will accommodate it without visible bulging.

How do the snagless RJ45 clips release without breaking the 30 AWG conductors?

Press the moulded boot tab down fully before pulling; yanking the cable body stresses the thin 30 AWG strands and can snap them.

When should the gold-plated contacts be cleaned or the cable replaced?

Replace the patch cord if the clip tabs break, the jacket kinks permanently, or corrosion appears on the 50-micron gold contacts.
