Converter for legacy sources

This Vszerda adapter converts analogue component (YPbPr) video and stereo RCA audio into a digital HDMI 1.3 signal. It accepts 2-channel RCA input and supports video resolutions up to 1080p. Installation requires no software; power is supplied by the included AC adapter.

Suited for older consoles and players

The unit suits owners of legacy game consoles, DVD players or set-top boxes that output component video and need an HDMI connection. It is not for sources that only provide composite, S-Video or HDMI already, nor for users who require audio formats beyond 2-channel stereo.

HDMI 1.3 output with 4.95 Gbps bandwidth

The converter delivers an HDMI 1.3 signal at 165 MHz and 1.65 Gbps per channel, giving 4.95 Gbps total bandwidth. This specification determines whether the target display or capture device can accept the converted signal.

Questions about this item

What resolution will the converter output when fed a 1080p component signal?

The unit supports video resolutions up to 1080p, so a 1080p component source is passed through at its native resolution over HDMI 1.3.

Does the HDMI 1.3 output limit the bandwidth compared with later versions?

The converter provides 165 MHz and 1.65 Gbps per channel (4.95 Gbps total), which is the full bandwidth of the HDMI 1.3 interface it uses.

What physical connections and power does the adapter require?

It accepts three RCA component video plugs plus red and white stereo audio RCA plugs, outputs a single HDMI connector, and is powered by the included AC adapter.
