Cable specification and audience

This Vszerda DisplayPort cable implements the DP2.1 standard with 80Gbps bandwidth over a 6.6 ft run. It targets PC gamers and content creators who need 4K at 240Hz or 8K at 120Hz from a modern graphics card. The cable is backward compatible with DP2.0 and DP1.4 equipment.

Who should choose another cable

Buyers whose monitor or GPU tops out at 4K 60Hz will not use the extra headroom this cable provides. Systems limited to DP1.2 or earlier cannot negotiate the UHBR rates that justify the cost. Users needing runs longer than 6.6 ft must look for an active or fibre alternative.

Behaviour under sustained load

The double nylon braid survives 15000-plus bend cycles, so repeated routing behind a desk does not degrade the conductors. DSC 1.2a compression keeps the link stable at 16K 60Hz or 10K 60Hz without thermal throttling. HDR10 and HDCP 2.2 handshakes remain reliable during extended gaming sessions at 4K 240Hz or 2K 360Hz.

Questions about this item

Do I need a graphics card and monitor that both have DisplayPort 2.1 ports to use this cable?

Yes, to reach the 80 Gbps UHBR20 link you need a source and a display that each implement DisplayPort 2.1; the cable is backward compatible with DP 2.0 and 1.4 equipment at their native speeds.

Will this cable work with my GTX 980 and a DisplayPort 1.4 monitor?

The cable falls back to DisplayPort 1.4 signalling, so a GTX 980 and a DP 1.4 monitor will operate at up to 4K 144 Hz or 2K 240 Hz depending on the monitor's limits.

How can I verify the link is running at UHBR20 after I connect everything?

Check the link rate in your GPU control panel or the monitor on-screen display; it should read UHBR20 or 80 Gbps when the full DisplayPort 2.1 path is active.
