HDMI to 3G-SDI signal converter

This converter changes a single HDMI Type A input into two identical SDI outputs for broadcast or CCTV workflows. It handles 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576i and 480i resolutions and complies with HDMI 1.3. The unit is unidirectional and does not convert SDI back to HDMI.

Power adapter and manual included

A mains power adapter is supplied so the converter runs without drawing power from the HDMI source. The printed manual gives setup guidance for post-production and broadcast-room installations. No software or drivers are required for operation.

Long-distance SDI distribution

The two SDI outputs reach 100 metres at 3G-SDI, 200 metres at HD-SDI and 300 metres at SD-SDI, allowing camera feeds to travel across studios or security sites. Builders who need more than two SDI destinations or fibre-extended runs will need additional distribution hardware.

Questions about this item

Will the external power adapter need replacement after extended use?

The converter ships with a dedicated power adapter; no user-serviceable parts are mentioned, so the adapter itself is the only item that might require replacement if it fails.

What is the maximum cable length before signal loss at 1080p 3G-SDI?

At 3G-SDI the SDI outputs support up to 100 metres, at HD-SDI up to 200 metres, and at SD-SDI up to 300 metres.

Does the unit produce audible noise or heat when running continuously?

The converter has no fan and no moving parts, so it operates silently; heat output is low enough that no active cooling is required.
