IDE-to-SATA power adapter
The Vszerda HX-SA-056 converts a single IDE 4-pin male connector from a power supply into two SATA 15-pin female connectors. It lets builders add SATA drives to older PSUs that lack native SATA power outputs. The cable supports both 5 V and 12 V rails. Copper conductors carry the current between the connectors.
Upgrading from Molex-only supplies
This splitter replaces the need for a separate Molex-to-SATA adapter when the PSU still provides a free IDE 4-pin port. The jump is worth it when you have one IDE connector spare but need to power two SATA hard drives or SSDs. It avoids daisy-chaining multiple adapters that can loosen over time. No new power supply is required for this change.
Simple press-fit installation
Push the IDE male end firmly onto the PSU connector until the latch clicks, then attach each SATA female plug to the drive. The main risk is reversing the IDE plug, which the keyed shape prevents if oriented correctly. Loose SATA contacts can cause intermittent power, so verify each drive spins up reliably after first boot. Cable routing should avoid sharp bends near the connectors.

Questions about this item
Will the IDE 4-pin male connector fit my existing power supply Molex port?
The IDE 4-pin male plug matches a standard 4-pin Molex output on the PSU and delivers both 5 V and 12 V rails.
Do I need any tools or drivers to install the splitter?
No tools or drivers are required; simply push the male end into the PSU Molex socket until it clicks, then attach SATA drives to the two female ports.
How long can I expect the copper conductors to last under continuous use?
Copper conductors rated for 6 Gb/s signalling typically provide years of reliable power delivery with no scheduled replacement.
