MCIO SFF-8654 8i to 8 SATA adapter cable

This 50 cm cable converts an MCIO SFF-8654 8i interface into eight 90-degree SATA 7-pin female connectors. It uses a PCIe 4.0 harness rated for up to 16 Gbps transfer rates. The design targets server and high-performance storage expansions where multiple drives connect to a single controller port.

Suited for builders adding several SATA drives

The 90-degree connectors help route cables in tight chassis, and the 18-inch length fits typical server backplanes. Buyers needing straight SATA plugs, longer reach, or a different host interface such as Mini SAS HD should look at other cable types.

Maintains rated bandwidth during sustained transfers

The PCIe 4.0 harness and durable materials keep signal integrity stable under continuous multi-drive workloads. High-quality construction resists wear from repeated insertion cycles in demanding environments.

Questions about this item

What host connector must my server provide for the MCIO SFF-8654 8i end to seat properly?

The cable plugs into an MCIO SAS SFF-8654 8i receptacle on the motherboard or add-in card.

Will the 90-degree SATA 7P plugs clear the drive cages in a 2U chassis that already uses straight SATA cables?

The right-angle design keeps each SATA connector close to the board, leaving room for existing straight cables in tight bays.

How can I verify the link is running at the 16G transfer rate after installation?

Check the controller BIOS or OS utility for a negotiated 16 GT/s link speed on each of the eight SATA ports.
