Connects a SFF-8087 controller to four SFF-8482 SATA drives with integrated power, 3.3 ft each, two cables
This two-pack provides Mini SAS 36-pin SFF-8087 connectors that split into four 29-pin SFF-8482 ends with integrated SATA power. Each 3.3 ft cable links a single controller port to four SATA hard drives, simplifying internal storage cabling for servers or workstations that use SAS host adapters. The 36-pin host side plugs into the controller while the 29-pin target sides attach directly to the drives.
Bundled SATA power leads on each fan-out leg eliminate the need for separate power cables from the PSU to every drive. This reduces cable clutter inside the chassis and ensures each of the four connected disks receives both data and power from the same assembly. The power connectors follow the standard SATA specification so they mate with any compatible drive backplane or drive bay.
Verify that your controller exposes an SFF-8087 port and that the target drives use the 29-pin SFF-8482 interface; the cable will not function with SAS drives that require a different connector. Some newer drives may leave certain pins exposed, so be prepared to insulate the indicated pins with tape if the drive is not recognised. Confirm the 3.3 ft length reaches from your controller to the furthest drive bay in your enclosure.

No published specifications for this item yet.
Inspect the SATA power connectors each time you reseat a drive; replace any cable that shows melted plastic, bent pins or intermittent detection.
The 29-pin SFF-8482 connectors typically hit their rated mating cycles before the 36-pin SFF-8087 host end.
The passive cable adds no active heat or power draw; only the drives and controller generate heat.
