Mini-SAS SFF-8087 breakout cable

This one-metre cable connects a Mini-SAS SFF-8087 host port on a RAID controller or motherboard to four SATA drives. It is built for installers who need to expand internal storage using existing SAS infrastructure. The forward breakout wiring makes the SAS connector the host side and the four SATA connectors the target side.

Locking latches and labelled leads

Both the 36-pin Mini-SAS plug and each SATA 7-pin receptacle feature locking latches that resist accidental disconnection. The four breakout leads are individually labelled, and the 30 AWG conductors are wrapped in a braided sleeve that keeps routing tidy inside a chassis.

Suits SAS-to-SATA storage builds

This cable fits builders attaching up to four SATA hard drives or SSDs to a Mini-SAS 3Gbps or 6Gbps controller. It will not work if the SFF-8087 port is on a backplane instead of a host controller, and it cannot be used for SATA-to-SAS reverse connections or for any interface other than SAS and SATA.
