Adds a U.2 SFF-8639 port for a 2.5 Intel 750 NVMe SSD using a PCI-E 3.0 x4 slot and a 22-pin SATA power connector
This adapter kit connects an Intel 750 Series NVMe SSD to a motherboard using a PCI Express 3.0 x4 slot. It provides a single SFF-8639 U.2 interface for the drive. The included SATA 22-pin connector supplies power only and does not carry data signals. It suits builders adding enterprise-style U.2 storage to a consumer platform.
The card installs into any free PCI-E x4 or larger slot and requires a SATA power cable from the power supply for the 22-pin header. No additional drivers are needed for the adapter itself; the SSD appears as a standard NVMe device. A frequent mistake is expecting the SATA port to transfer data, which it does not. Ensure the motherboard BIOS supports booting from NVMe if the drive is used as the OS volume.
The adapter is a passive electrical bridge, so sustained throughput depends on the SSD and the PCI-E 3.0 x4 link rather than the card itself. It adds no active cooling, so the Intel 750 drive relies on case airflow to maintain temperatures during long writes. The green PCB has no heatsinks or thermal pads, making adequate chassis ventilation important for consistent performance.

The Intel 750 NVMe SSD should appear in the BIOS and operating system as a bootable NVMe drive once the card is seated and the SATA 22pin power cable is connected.
The kit includes the green PCIe card with a U.2 SFF-8639 port; you must provide a SATA 22pin power cable from the PSU and the 2.5 Intel 750 NVMe SSD.
This single PCIe 3.0 x4 to U.2 SFF-8639 adapter is the only version listed and is designed specifically for the Intel 750 NVMe SSD.
