Splits one SlimSAS 8X 74pin port into two U.2 NVMe 68pin connectors with integrated SATA power over a 75cm cable
This cable adapts a single SFF-8654 74pin connector on a motherboard or controller into two independent SFF-8639 68pin U.2 NVMe interfaces. It lets builders attach two enterprise or consumer U.2 SSDs simultaneously without occupying additional host ports. The 75cm length suits standard tower layouts while keeping routing tidy. Buyers whose host lacks a SlimSAS 8X port cannot use this adapter.
The defining specification is the direct breakout from one 74pin SlimSAS 8X plug to two 68pin U.2 NVMe receptacles carrying both data and power. Integrated power lines draw from a standard SATA power connector so each U.2 drive receives the electricity it needs without extra cables. The assembly supports PCIe lane signalling across the full 8X width. Systems without a SATA power source for the adapter will leave the drives unpowered.
A built-in SATA power tap feeds both U.2 connectors, so installers do not need separate power leads for each SSD. This all-in-one design reduces clutter and shortens installation time in servers, workstations or high-end desktop builds. The 75cm (approx. 29.5 inches) reach gives flexibility for drive placement in larger chassis. Users who prefer Molex or direct PSU power for U.2 drives must source a different cable.

The 74-pin SlimSAS 8X (SFF-8654) host end carries eight PCIe lanes, splitting them into two independent x4 links so each U.2 NVMe SSD gets full x4 bandwidth.
The SFF-8654 and SFF-8639 connectors pass PCIe signalling; the cable itself does not impose a generation ceiling, so the effective limit is the host controller and the NVMe drives you attach.
It requires a 74-pin SFF-8654 port on the motherboard or add-in card, two U.2 (SFF-8639) drive bays or backplane slots, and a standard SATA power connector for the integrated power lines; the 75 cm length suits most tower layouts.
