Connects a 29-pin SAS drive to a 22-pin SATA controller via SFF-8482 interface
This Vszerda adapter converts a SFF-8482 29-pin SAS interface to a standard SATA 22-pin connector. It is designed for builders who need to attach a SAS hard disk to a motherboard or controller that already provides native SAS support, or to a SAS drive that can operate in SATA mode. The product does not add SAS capability to a plain SATA port.
The adapter functions as a passive electrical bridge, so data throughput and error rates depend entirely on the host controller and the drive firmware. Under continuous read or write workloads the link remains stable only when the motherboard SAS chip or the drive SATA mode is correctly configured. No active signal conditioning or buffering is present on the board.
The moulded housing carries a 29-pin SFF-8482 plug on one side and a combined 22-pin SATA data-and-power receptacle on the other. Gold-plated contacts resist oxidation during repeated insertions, and the rigid body prevents cable strain from flexing the PCB. Installation is a simple plug-in action; no drivers or external power are required beyond what the host port supplies.

No published specifications for this item yet.
The passive converter has no active components, so it adds no measurable heat or noise during all-day operation.
You need either a motherboard with a native SAS controller or a SAS hard drive that explicitly supports SATA mode; a standard SATA-only board will not work.
Only if the older controller is a hybrid SAS/SATA model; a pure SATA controller cannot communicate with the SAS drive through this adapter.
