SATA 15-pin to 8-pin GPU power adapter

This pair of 22 cm cables lets a system power a graphics card from existing SATA power connectors. Each cable has a 15-pin SATA male plug on one end and an 8-pin (6+2) PCIe male connector on the other. The two extra pins detach to form a 6-pin plug for cards that need it. Builders who need native PCIe power cables from the PSU cannot use these adapters.

Detachable 6+2 pin configuration

The split 8-pin head converts to a 6-pin connector by removing two pins, matching either GPU power requirement without a second cable. Using the adapter also reduces wear on the motherboard or drive SATA ports caused by repeated unplugging. Systems without spare SATA power leads gain no benefit from this kit.

SATA power delivery limits
