Right-angled adapter converts an SFF-8482 SAS 22-pin connector to a 7-pin SATA data and 15-pin power connection for compatible controllers
This Vszerda adapter converts an SFF-8482 SAS 22-pin connection into a standard 7-pin SATA data link and a 15-pin power plug. It targets builders adding SAS hard drives or SAS SSDs to a motherboard or controller that already speaks SAS. The right-angled 90-degree body keeps the cable run tidy inside tight chassis. It does not bridge SAS drives to ordinary SATA-only ports.
The unit is a passive cable assembly with no active components, so it generates no heat and draws no power of its own. Noise is non-existent because there are no fans or moving parts. The 15-pin section simply passes through the drive's existing power requirements from the host supply.
The 90-degree SFF-8482 plug lets the cable exit parallel to the drive, clearing low-profile backplanes and crowded drive cages. You need a SAS-capable controller or motherboard with the appropriate chipset; a plain SATA host will not recognise the drive. Conversely, a SATA drive cannot attach to a pure SAS backplane through this adapter. The 29-pin SFF-8482 interface carries two SAS lanes to the drive.

Align the 29-pin SFF-8482 end with the drive connector, press straight in until the plastic body seats fully, then route the 7-pin SATA and 15-pin power cables away from the 90-degree bend to avoid strain.
The 15-pin male power connector is rated for standard SATA mating cycles; replace the adapter if pins become loose or the plastic housing cracks from frequent insertion.
The 7-pin SATA data path and dual 7-pin SAS lanes share the adapter's signal traces, so sustained dual-lane SAS traffic hits the SATA connector's single-lane electrical ceiling first.
