Extends USB 2.0 devices up to 150 feet over Cat5/5e/6 cable, plug-and-play with no power needed
This USB 2.0 extender uses Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 cable to carry USB signals up to 150 feet. It connects cameras, printers, webcams, keyboards, mice and other USB devices to a host computer. No external power supply is required and the adapter works plug and play. The compact plastic housing is lightweight and built for long-term use.
Verify that the host system provides a USB 2.0 Type-A port before ordering. The link reaches 150 feet only when a high-quality network cable is used for runs beyond 30 feet; ordinary cable is sufficient for shorter distances. Supported operating systems include Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and Mac OS 8.6 or higher.
The adapter plugs directly into the computer and the remote USB device, with the Cat5/5e/6 cable bridging the gap. It eliminates the standard five-metre USB length limit and frees the device from sitting next to the host. No driver installation or external power brick is needed, keeping the cabling simple.

The package includes the USB 2.0 extender adapter itself. You supply the Cat5, Cat5e or Cat6 patch cable; any length up to 30 feet works with an ordinary cable, while runs beyond 30 feet up to 150 feet need a high-quality network cable.
For a 45-foot link you must use a high-quality Cat5e or Cat6 cable; standard patch cords are only reliable up to 30 feet.
It is the longest span the extender can bridge when paired with a high-quality Cat5e or Cat6 cable; shorter runs of 30 feet or less work with ordinary network cable.
