A 2-port VGA KVM switch lets you control two computers with one monitor, keyboard and mouse while adding three USB ports for extra peripherals
This VGA KVM switch lets you operate two computers from a single monitor, keyboard and mouse. Three USB ports provide connections for keyboard, mouse and an extra device such as a printer or flash drive. The unit draws power from the attached computers through the integrated USB pigtail so no separate power adapter is needed. It supports hot-plug operation and works with wired or wireless keyboard and mouse combinations.
Because the switch is powered through the USB pigtail plugged into each host, it adds no extra mains load and produces no fan noise. Video is limited to a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 1080p, suitable for standard office monitors. The supplier notes that some gaming or multimedia keyboards may not function fully through the USB hub, although basic wireless sets are supported.
A wired desktop selector is included so you can switch computers from a convenient location without reaching the switch itself. Two combined VGA-and-USB cables carry both video and the power needed for the switch, reducing cable clutter. The package also contains a user manual for setup guidance.

Plug the VGA connector and the attached USB pigtail into the same host computer; the USB end supplies power to the KVM unit.
The 2-in-1 VGA and USB cables and the mechanical desktop selector button are the components most likely to require replacement over time.
The switch caps video output at 1920 x 1080, so that resolution limit appears before any other sustained-use constraint.
