Converts 3.5-inch 39/40-pin IDE drives to 22-pin SATA for ATA 100/133 desktop use with no drivers required
This adapter converts a 39/40-pin IDE hard drive to a SATA 22-pin interface. It suits 3.5" IDE devices such as hard disks, CD-ROMs, CD writers and VCR drives. The board fits almost any desktop and requires no driver installation. It is a new component supplied by weastlinks.
The package includes a 4-pin power cable that delivers the necessary supply to the converted drive. This cable removes the need to source a separate Molex lead when connecting an older IDE unit to a modern SATA power header. The adapter board itself uses a double-deck PCB measuring 6 by 2.2 cm.
The converter supports ATA 100 and ATA 133 standards, so it works with legacy Parallel ATA drives at their native speeds. It operates with Windows XP, 7 and 8 on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. Drives requiring faster interfaces or different pin counts will not function with this adapter.

The adapter uses a PCB double-deck circuit board with a 39/40-pin interface; treat the connector gently during repeated insertions to avoid bent pins.
The bridge is rated for ATA 100/133, so the legacy IDE bus itself becomes the bottleneck before the SATA link.
The adapter draws power through the included 4-pin cable and runs passively; no active cooling is present, so warmth stays low under normal desktop loads.
