Holds a 2230 M.2 NVMe SSD, connects via USB 3.2 at 10Gbps, and adds a hardware write-protection switch
The Weastlinks adapter houses a single M.2 NVMe 2230 solid-state drive and connects it to a host via a USB-C cable. It targets users who want to repurpose a short-form-factor drive as portable external storage without a full-size enclosure.
The USB 3.2 interface caps sustained throughput at 10 Gbps, so the drive’s native PCIe speed will not be fully realised on faster hosts. The link also supplies bus power only, limiting use to drives that operate within the port’s current budget.
The drive slides into the M-key slot and is secured by the integrated latch; no screws or separate thermal pads are required. Common issues include forgetting the five-press sequence to toggle write protection and neglecting to reconnect the cable after the LED colour changes, which leaves the protection state inactive.

No published specifications for this item yet.
It is designed for M.2 NVMe drives in the 2230 form factor only.
The connection tops out at 10 Gbps, so sustained transfers will be limited by that ceiling and the drive’s own performance.
The enclosure uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port running at 10 Gbps, so it works with any host that supports that standard.
