8-Inch Carbon-Steel Enclosure

The Wiegmann SC-series enclosure is a NEMA 1-rated box built from 16-gauge carbon steel with an ANSI 61 grey polyester-powder finish. It measures 8.0 inches high, wide and deep and provides a usable opening depth of 7.88 inches for housing circuit-breaker or bus-plug components in indoor commercial or light-industrial settings.

Screw-Cover Mounting with Pre-Embossed Holes

The solid cover fastens with plated steel screws that thread into self-tapping hardware included in the package. Embossed mounting holes on the back simplify wall attachment, while factory knockouts allow conduit entry without additional drilling. Misaligned screw starts or over-torquing the self-tapping screws can strip the thin-gauge threads, so hand-tightening is advised.

Indoor-Rated Protection Under Continuous Operation

The NEMA 1 rating guards against falling dirt and incidental contact but offers no defence against water, oil or corrosive atmospheres. The powder-coat finish resists humidity and minor abrasion during long-term service, yet the enclosure is not suited for outdoor, wash-down or hazardous-location duty where a higher NEMA rating would be required.
