Industrial wall-mount enclosure

The Wiegmann SC242406NK is a NEMA 1 rated carbon steel enclosure designed for indoor electrical protection. It suits installers and facility managers who need a secure, wall-mounted housing for circuit breakers and control gear.

Thermal and access considerations

The 14 ga steel body with ANSI 61 powder coat finish dissipates heat passively in normal indoor environments. A solid cover fastened with plated steel screws keeps internal components shielded while allowing straightforward access for inspection or maintenance.

Build integration

Embossed mounting holes simplify attachment to structural surfaces and the 5.88 in usable opening depth provides space for DIN rail or panel components. Self-tapping screws are included, and the unit carries CSA, cULus and UL listings for code-compliant installations.

Questions about this item

How is the SC242406NK enclosure mounted to a wall, and what step is often missed?

Use the embossed mounting holes on the back of the 14 ga carbon steel body; the step often missed is ensuring the mounting surface is flat so the NEMA 1 seal remains effective.

What maintenance does the ANSI 61 powder-coated finish need over time?

Inspect the gray coating periodically for scratches or corrosion; touch up any damaged areas promptly to maintain the protective finish on the carbon steel.

What is the usable depth limit for components installed inside this enclosure?

The usable opening depth is 5.88 in, so any mounted equipment must fit within that space behind the solid cover.
